Business Development Director – Chantilly, VA

Position Description

SRC is currently seeking to expand its Chantilly, Va., based communications, electronic warfare and radar business. We are seeking a business development director to provide the leadership, execution and vision for the business expansion.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to

- Identify and develop sales opportunity leads to maintain the sales funnel/sales pipeline
- Work closely with customer base to develop and articulate needs/requirements
- Possess a working understanding of existing technologies to guide the customer base to appropriate and cost effective solutions
- Monitor and assess competitive environment on a continuing basis
- Provide insights to the Strategic Planning Process
- Identify customer technical/operational requirements and actively participate in proposal development by helping create offers that represent maximum affordable value to the customer
- Ensure that proposals address the customer’s key issues and requirements
- Prepare and present technical briefings to high-level corporate and government leadership
- Work closely with engineering to validate and flesh-out ideas and concepts

Position Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or computer science is required, master's degree is preferred
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in the development of radar, electronic warfare or similar sensor systems for the Department of Defense or intelligence community
- Strong business development skills with a proven track record of driving opportunities to closure
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a fast paced, informal environment
- Minimum 50 percent travel required
- Prior program management experience a plus

Security Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. A U.S. government clearance within the last 24 months and an in-scope SSBI (within the last five years) is preferred. Applicants must have a current CI or FS polygraph or be willing to submit to one as a condition of employment.
