Currently, SRC is seeking a software engineer for future business opportunities who will be responsible for providing on-site support to one of our government customers located in Chantilly, Va.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

- Perform software development tasks and assist in the design and architecture of software applications individually or as a team member
- Review, analyze and modifies programming systems to include coding, testing, debugging, installing and documenting to support organization's software applications
- Implement software development process improvement activities in accordance with organizational procedures
- Develop unit and integration tests and test plans for software applications; execute tests and prepare software test reports
- Write documentation for software and software interfaces
- Analyze and study complex system requirements
- Design software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses and manage their implementation
- Translate detailed design into computer software
- Implement commercial off-the-shelf packages
- Test, debug and refine the computer software to produce the required product
- Prepare required documentation, including both program- and user-level documentation
- Enhance software to reduce operating time or improve efficiency
- Provide technical guidance in software engineering techniques and automated support tools
- Provide technical direction to programmers to ensure program deadlines are met
- Supports the learning experience life-cycle from inception during initial consultation meetings through design, planning, production, delivery, evaluation and finally the ongoing maintenance phase of the learning technology infrastructure products
- Develop and maintain an enterprise web application capable of supporting thousands of users
- Develop a custom Linux operating system distribution that works across a defined subset of embedded systems and provide software engineering support using a modified agile test-driven process
- Develop a modular software component architecture that works across a defined subset of embedded systems and to provide software engineering support using a modified agile test-driven process
- Implement and test software using industry standard techniques and methodologies and perform application testing and database development or web development

Position Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent degree
- Four or more years of experience in software engineering, applications development, and/or database design and development; experience with front, mid and back end development
- Development experience in one or more of the following: Spring, Struts, Hibernate, Sitemesh and AOP, java/java EE, XFire/CXF, junit, C, C++, C#, Fortran, .net, java script, coldfusion, perl, php, bash, python or adobe flex development tools, SQL apps, javascript, HTML/XHTML, XML, web service protocols (HTTP/HTTPS, SOAP, WSDL, LDAP, RESTful), Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), writing reports using Cognos, Actuate reports writer, or similar reports such as Crystal, Business Objects; Google Web Toolkit; Internet protocols (i.e., http/s, ftp, smtp, ssh)
- Detailed understanding of and experience in one or more of the following: The J2EE specification
- Interfacing an application layer with the presentation and data layers, extreme programming practice, Software project lifecycle (SPLC)
- Developing, implementing and maintaining enterprise web applications
- Working in a mixed technical environment and maintaining productivity when switching between languages or technologies
- Embedded development experience, Agile development, x509 certificates, LDAP and Directory Services
- Experience with one or more of the following is desired: Interest in open source frameworks, new languages such as Ruby is desirable, Basic Domino database development experience (i.e., scripts, formulas, agents, Groovy, Restful web services, scrum practices
- Understanding of one way transfer systems
- Demonstrated expertise installing, configuring, and supporting server technologies including, but not limited to Apache Web Server, Microsoft Internet Information Server and Apache Tomcat
- Familiarity with Agile methodology
- ARM embedded development experience
- Familiarity with or willing to learn Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)
- Basic Domino database development experience (i.e., scripts, formulas, agents)

Security Requirements

An active Top Secret/SCI security clearance and current investigation are required.
