Currently, SRC is seeking a project manager for engineering project development in support of Navy information operations (IO) in the Norfolk, Va., area. The project manager will lead projects or teams in accordance with directed cost and schedule parameters, establish and monitor task assignments, support prioritization and identify alternative actions to ensure timely completion of specified deliverables. The project manager will support Navy fleet IO requirements and manage day-to-day, operational or tactical aspects of multiple IO or information technology tasks.
Responsibilities
- Serve as project lead
- Retain overall responsibility for cost, schedule, deliverables and contractual compliance
- Coordinate interface between the customer and other project leads
- Ensure quality and productivity standards are maintained within deadline and budget constraints
- Provide quality assurance and timely delivery of identified deliverables
- Identify task responsibilities, provide suggestions and report changes or updates to the senior project manager or program manager
- Develop estimates, plans, presentations and technical inputs to support leadership decision making
- Organize and deliver project related communications as determined during project governance
- Train new project personnel to ensure compliance with government regulations, codes, policy and procedures
Position Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years experience is required, of which nine years must be specialized experience in complete engineering project development from inception to deployment
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business, or related technical degree or equivalent experience is desired
- Demonstrated ability to provide guidance and direction in multiple tasks across several functional areas and in the use of different technologies
- Proven expertise in the management and control of funds and resources, demonstrated capability in managing multi-task contracts
- General experience in increasing responsibilities for information systems design and management
- Experience in IO or information assurance
- Proven record of successful planning, communication, management and technical skill working in matrix oriented organizations
- Experience with advanced technology, scientific research, or supporting management principles in related technical disciplines or specialty fields highly desired
- Experience supporting Navy activities highly desired
- Project management professional or similar industry recognized certifications a plus
