Lead Radar Systems Engineer (Syracuse, NY) Job

Position Description
SRC is currently seeking lead radar systems engineers. SRC has developed several new radar systems over the past 10 years. One example is the LCMR™ system, a lightweight counter-mortar radar, which was identified as the U.S. Army's Top Ten Invention for 2005. The radar's unique lightweight, portable design and 360-degree coverage has made it critical in protecting U.S. Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. Another example is FORESTER, a foliage penetration radar designed for use on an unmanned helicopter. Other radar systems are also in various stages of development. Experienced radar systems engineers are needed to lead the development of these new generations of radars and enhance the capabilities of current systems.
Responsibilities
• Lead an interdisciplinary team at our Syracuse, N.Y., location to design, analyze and test advanced radar systems
• Perform architecture development
• Provide analysis through integration and test
• Perform trade studies
• Create requirement and design specifications
• Perform simulations
• Support customer presentations
Position Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, math or physics is required, but a master's degree is preferred
• Must have six or more years of practical working experience with radar systems
• Solid MATLAB and C/C++ experience a plus
• Candidate must be familiar with digital signal processing algorithms, techniques and related technologies
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience as a team lead or supervisor also a plus
• Must be willing to travel to various test sites in the U.S.
Security Clearance Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
